Well we took in a Jamboree in Niton Junction on Jan 26. Weather was nice and hall was packed. Wilf and Carol came with us and my Dad and Christeen showed up as well. We all had a nice time. We stayed over in Spruce Grove so we could attend Alexander's Jam the following day...wow... what a difference in weather in a few hours. It was soo cold...-30C and blowing snow..but the dedicated musicians we are.. we inched our way to Alexander, jumped over 3 foot snow drifts to get in the door.. and had a semi-private jam with about 30 other people.
On Feb 1st, went with our new friends Dale &
Judy Smith to a little jamboree "ark" party(thats what they called the building - cause it took them 40 days & 40 nights to make the quonset party worthy) in Sherwood Park. It was a quaint little quonset done up inside like a rustic cabin with a big ol coal/wood burning stove... plenty of awesome music and such a relaxing afternoon. Thanks to all for making us feel so welcome.
Feb 2nd we hauled our epuipment into Edmontons Sherbrooke Hall to do a Jamboree for the organization I'm working with to promote Aboriginal talent (Alberta Aboriginal Association of Music) We had a full house despite the chilly weather. Our volunteers cooked some soup and bannock and rice puding... all left full and refreshed.
Check out our website at www.aaamsound.com to find our all about this organization and dates you can come entertain with us or just be entertained!

We decided to check out a Edmonton event at the "Fiddlers Roost" on 8906-99 st on Jan 14. It was a quant little basement hideaway full of friendly musicians and singers. Yesterday they didn't have a particularly large crowd, mostly entertainers. We were joined by our freinds Wilf and Carol and Dale and Judy. Kelsey was in rare form clowning around with everyone, especially her buddy Wilf. We stayed late and played the second round of course as we "simply can't" leave a Jamboree early. We were dissapointed that they didnt have a dance area, as we were all prepared to boogie the evening away, and that for a "fiddlers roost" - Kelsey Cory and Ed were the only fiddlers that performed. It is nice to check out new events and we will be visiting more "new" places this year.
